How do I calculate phono stage gain in dB?
« on: 9 Nov 2008, 09:20 pm »
Just for fun, I measured the gain of my phono stage over the weekend ... I fed in a signal from my sig-gen (reduced with a voltage divider, 10 ohms:1,500 ohms) and measured the output with my 'scope.

5mv input gave 2,150mV output on the R channel (ie. x 430) and 2,120mV on the L (ie. x 424).  Can anyone tell me how to convert this to gain in dB?

Thanks,

Andy

Thanks, John.

That did give me the figure I was looking for (just under 53dB gain)!  :thumb:
