hello all,

a friend of mine needs a pair of 3ft biamped speaker cables in a single sheath per side for waf.

is there a good quality, very reasonably priced manufacturer you guys would recommend (the budget is around 200usd). in this application the sound quality is not supremely critical - yet .  he and his wife are just starting their first audiophile system, but aesthetics are at a premium in their household.

thanks for the tip jeff. i already contacted them; but they won't put a biamp run in a single sleeve....in fact i believe i was told they don't even put their cables in sleeves at all.

You could also check out Cobalt Cable.  I used them for a long run in a previous home.  Good quality, good service.

The suggestions so far are good ones IMO.

I'll add that he can fairly easily "roll his own."
It can be as cheap (and good) as WLM cable. (see my post on the subject) or as slick and expensive as buying raw high(er)-end stuff and sheathing it with a color to his/his wife's liking - gets her involved and gives her input too!

It's a simple/fun project and will get him some "hands on" experience instead of "just buying stuff"
After all --- ANYONE (with a few bucks) can do THAT.   aa

I'm using exactly that on my HT3's right now and, honestly, for $100 of non-bi-wire cables at 17 feet length, they sound great.  SUper fast delivery as well.

Timely thread.

I was just thinking of trying to dig up some old threads to refresh my memory on brands of affordable speaker cables so I could try out some bi-wires.

I've got Ultimate Cables interconnects already. Carl's very accomodating, and shipping was pretty quick on both orders. Probably want to stick with all copper for the speaker cables though since my system is already plenty revealing.

try magnet wire from an electric motor rewinder, probably get the end of a roll for free   Its enamel coated and looks like raw copper except it never turns green.
