These amplifiers are really integrated amplifiers and power DACs.  Each has 3 S/PDIF (RCA) digital inputs, 1 AES/EBU (balanced) digital input, and 1 Toslink digital input.  Inputs can be selected via the front panel or remote.  Volume can be adjusted via the remote. Hook up a Squeeze Box and/or digital transport(s) and speakers and you are ready to go.

( cold rolled 68% copper alloy with a highly polished platinum finish)

And probably more things I forgot to list and tweaks Anthony does when he has an amp completely gutted.

I forgot to mention all Mosfets were upgraded and a heat sink was added when the 3.3V regulator was upgraded.

FWIW, I purchased one of these from Don to replace a stock Tact 2150. I'm quite happy with the purchase. The mods improve considerably on an already good amp. Like many audio pieces, the Tact is built to a price point and can be improved with superior parts. I can't think of a $2500 preamp/DAC/amp combo, new or used, that comes anywhere near this performance. My advice is that anyone hesitating to purchase one of these should do so before they are gone.

Surprised you haven't sold all three.

Hard to compete with:
1.  The economy
2.  Christmas
3.  Black Friday
4.  Cyber Monday

BUT:  ONLY ONE AMP REMAINS.

If you have been sitting on the fence, time to pull the splinters out of your butt and take action.  Two amps have found new homes and I only have one left.

Hello,

I'm the second buyer, and like RichardS, I am also replacing a stock Tact, the 2150XDM. I whole-heartedly agree with Richard's post. The XDM and my Zu Druids made sweet music together, and the MauiMod 2150 upgrades what was an already outstanding combo that most people wouldn't recognize as needing improvement. Do yourself, or some one you love, a great favor and pick up this amp and the Druids from the guy in Boston. Add a computer, or nice transport, and you've got many years of happiness ahead of you.

Don_S, it's been a pleasure. I'm all smiles, and even the cat approves of the upgrade. He'd rather sit in my lap with the modded Tact playing than go outdoors and wait for the music to end. I think he may have the better ears.

Cheers

Leath,  It was a pleasure meeting and dealing with you as well.  I am glad that you like the amp.  I think it is a kick that your cat does not immediately run outside when you play music now. Everybody's a critic. :rotflmao:

Big Red, you are correct. The S2150 amps do NOT have Room Perfect.
