JAVS DAC-1 Overture & UHF-1 USB-SPDIF/DAC's
« on: 1 Nov 2008, 04:54 pm »
These look just what I've been looking for. They can both take 24/96 USB inputs and send them out the SPDIF (or analogue outs). They both have low jitter clocks (1ppm for DAC-a and 5ppm for UHF). The UHF-1 is only £60-£70 (seems great value) and the DAC-a is about £140.

Parts seem good and if they are the equal (quality wise) to the Trends/PopPulse/HagUsb etc with 16/44.1 material, then I will be a happy man, as they add 24/96 support. The DAC-1 has upsampling (switch in or out) etc as well, pluse some more stuff the UHF lacks.

Can anyone tell me if connecting my CD player to the coaxial SPDIF input and then out again into my Xindak DAC-5 will add a lot of jitter compared to going straight into the DAC-5, or could it in fact reduce the jitter due to reclocking?

Thanks
