Behringer DEQ2496 AutoEQ settings into DCX2496

Can I output the DEQ2496 AutoEQ settings created from the AutoEQ process
with mic and load them into the DCX2496 for room correction?

That's a good question!  Wish I knew the answer.
Does the DEQ2496 have a software setup similar to the DCX?

The DCX does have limted memory, so you might run out of filters fast.

EDIT:  I looked thru the DEQ manual.  It has MIDI connections and says you can dump into another DEQ or a computer.  But how you could get that into the DCX is a mystery.  It doesn't look like the settings would translate, anyway.

Maybe someone here has more experience with it.

jkelly,
wouldn´t it be time at last to familiarise yourself with the manual setup of the DCX?
That way you may be able to transfer those DEQ settings by hand to the DCX.

Since you were talking of room corrections: Its only a last resort to equalise shortcomings of the room acoustics electronically. Usually that does more wrong than right. Changing loudspeaker or listening positions would be a better strategy IMHO.

You are right.

Do you however know if a file can be exported from the DEQ and loaded into the DCX?

I can´t be sure because I don´t own the DEQ. But:
There are no compatible connectors.
There are no compatible protocols.
There is no hint in either manual about a control data connection whatsoever between both.
So my educated guess is: Sorry, definitely nope! :(

guy's , i am confused, the deq has 1/3rd octave eq/ the dcx has dynamic eq listed but does not say what type of eq topology it really is. how can the deq's  eq settings be applied to the dcx if it has a different type of eq? am i missing something? i'm curious because i have been wanting to use the behringer for some time now.

You're on the right track - the settings probably can not be applied.  The DEQ has a lot more EQ settings than the DCX, anyway.  The DCX is mostly a crossover with some EQ thrown in. They are too different.

But hey, why not use the DEQ in front of the DCX and link them together via AES digital?  OK, there's the cost issue - but you don't have to buy them both at the same time. :)

That way you could have a very good, all digital system EQ that feeds into your digital x-over  -- with some EQ on each x-over section.
You can EQ and tweak to your heart's desire.
