For those that are on the market for a decent all metal sturdy bookshelf/monitor stands or home theater you can't beat these babies...  Just wanted to pass on this great deal, Wow I got them and I am really, really impressed.  Cheap, solid, adjustable and did I mention cheap????    aa

I was considering the quik lok bs-313 for my speakers, but I'm just not convinced they will work well with carpet and larger/heavier speakers weighing between 40-65 lbs.  Thanks for the vote of confidence on the brand, if not the model.

They will work perfect with carpets, they come with floor spikes and you can upgrade them to brass spikes in the future if you wish they can withstand 100LBS dont think any monitor would weigh that much.  For the price they really cant be beat, they are not the prettiest but they work

Are you saying the bs300 will do 100lb and has spikes or the bs313?  Given that the bs300 only weighs 10lb and is a single column support with small bases, I'm not sure I would put 100 lbs. on there.  If the bs313 really includes spikes, I would be pretty well sold.  I couldn't find that info online.

A good, low cost, speaker stand can be made with cinder blocks. Yes, they look like hell, but they are massive and avoid many of the potential problems with metal stands. I used them for a year or two to good effect. If you're on a budget, they can't be beat...

Cinder blocks have their share of problems.  First, they're not THAT cheap.  Second, they don't stack flush and level and it's very difficult to shim the suckers so that they're level and stable.  Third, they crumble and make a big mess.  I can work with issues 1 and 3, but issue 2 really kills me, and they're nearly impossible to work with satisfactorily on carpet.
