$1150 seem high for a small chassis and not fully updated unit. For $450 more, you could get a large chassis, fully updated unit, assuming phono is included.

Does it have phono?  Why are you selling a two week old preamp?

Can't be that new; it's the older (smaller) SL chassis that can't take the 6N1P tube upgrade.

phono's there, just take a look at the serial # label. chassis is old, but maybe newly updated with the non updated circuits.

That is an old chassis all right, looks like an old Allied chassis from the early 90s, BUT the chassis has nothing to do with how it sounds.  :smoke:

Mark, that looks like the chassis I had with the Super Pas3i, right?

The chassis is 1st gen AVA with removable bottom plate.
It is a bit of a puzzle why someone would sink the cash into upgrading only to sell it two weeks later.

Why sell?

This is an upgraded unit, from Pas3i to Transcendence Eight.
I got the original unit in a trade for a set of Paradigm speakers that served well, but were insufficient for my new, larger (hooray!) listening room.
The Pas3i had some glare with my Newform ribbon - based speakers.

The upgrade was done, based on much of what I had read in this circle, to replace my Benchmark DAC1 as a preamp.
The Benchmark DAC1 performs alternate duty with my Xbox 360 (play by night, when the kids are asleep).

The T8 comes off as too relaxed in the upper range for my taste, with my Denon 3910 doing the CD processing.
It's a lovely sound, but I don't want to spend more money on another DAC...

In the interim, I found a Meridian 568 processor that has tone controls in the digital domain; which SINGS in my system.

The Photobucket link also shows the receipt from AVA, detailing all of this.
