Hey Robin,In my almost 13 x 18 x 8' room, I already have 20 different panels up with 4 more on the way!Mostly GIK 242, 244 and diffusers but also 8th nerve and some older ASC I had laying around. I love the look of the upscale GIK stuff and the RealTraps too, but this boy went for the cheap (yet effective) stuff.Got the wall intersections bass trapped, the ceiling corners traingled, ceiling itself GIK'd. The room reminds me of "Goodnight Moon" except instead of the old lady, it's my room that is "whispering hush"
Realtraps has one that is optimized to be placed fairly close to the listener, so that's a good option too.
Ya'know Mike, what you really need are a couple of GIK Table Taps om each end of them recliners. Or maybe a couple GIK Elite Pillar Bass Traps for each corner to your loudspeakers. They could be used as plant stands for some silk plants if you don't have available lighting? Bass Traps would definitely unmuddy the bass,,, tighten it right up which in turn will help the whole frequency range. Works for me except I use a Real Traps Soffit Plant Stand but i do have the GIK Table Trap(s). You might possibly want to treat the ceiling also. Looks like your ceiling is much higher than my 7' ceiling but a (very light) Furutech Diffusion Panel @ the 1st reflection point on my ceiling did wonders for my smallish room. My 2 1/2 cents. Cheers,Robin
