Price increase

Didn't I read somewhere that Frank would have to raise the price on his gear sometime soon?

                                             Cheers

Actually, the price increase in percentage terms varies for each item.  For the Ultra 350 power amp, for example, the price will go from $1849 to $1949.  That's only a 5% increase.

Folks,

November 1st grace period  cancelled immediately. As of today, all prices are at the Nov.08 price list. See the AVA web site. Damn, my B-day is day after tomorrow and I was going to send in my Omega IV for an upgrade to an Insight unit this weekend! I think now I'll sell the DAC and put those funds along with some extra and go for the 17" chassis model. Maybe even an Ultra. No rush now.

We all have to eat, and Frank is no different.  And considering that many (if not most) other HiFi products have margins that are ridiculously high, there are absolutely no hard feelings on my end.  Pre or post price increase, I feel like I'm getting a bargain.

Ever figure out what a loudspeaker's real production costs are?  All I can say is--I am extremely thankful and appreciative that Frank prices his components as he does--which gives me the ability to afford and enjoy such high quality.  [Not only that, but he allows me to share such quality with my children--who have already gained an appreciation for "Elmo Piano" (i.e., Mozart piano concertos).]  Regardless of a price increase, we're all pretty blessed due to Frank's ethics and values.

/just my two cents.

I agree wholeheartedly. Not only that, but if you're my insurance agent, my AVA gear just increased about 12% in value while his investment choice cratered...

Have fun,

No hard feelings, just a missed opportunity. While rebuilding my DAC to Insight status for $499 was a bargain, I fell that paying an extra $200 for the same rebuild in an older small chassis would be better spent on a new unit with the larger chassis, especially when it's price only increased by $100. Since the price increase is now immediate, there isn't any rush to make a price increase deadline. I have time to raise more cash. I think I'll post in the Marketplace/Trading Post here on AC my two pairs of Super Pas Three/Ultimate 70 combos with new faceplates and knobs, Omega IV DAC, and Fet-Valve SL Preamp. That should net me enough for an Ultra SL Pre and Ultra DAC. If I don't get any bites, I'll call Frank and discuss pricing through his brokerage service. I really like the U70's bridged, but I may be moving to four ohm speakers and I'll need an Insight or FV Ultra 350.

Looked at the AVA site and haven't seen a price increase as of today. Might be best if Frank tells us about a price increase.

The prices shown are the increased prices.  He was supposedly offering the old prices until November 1st, which is not going to happen.

Look at the Home Page again. Right hand side of page, large off-color font, a few paragraphs down. Frank is pretty clear about this.  :thumb:

If I understand the AVA website, the immediate price increase applies to the Insight line, which means that the price increase for the tube and hybrid lines is still effective November 1.

Perhaps Frank can clarify.

Insight preamp, bridge, DAC, and phono preamp

I read it as the above listed items price increase goes into effect immediately, Nov. 1st for everything else.

The "grace period" has been eliminated on the Insight preamps, bridge, DAC, and phono preamp only.  The new prices on everything else goes into effect November 1st.

Bug hunters!  We very much appreciate your help. How about a 5 percent discount for each bug you find at our web site and report to us.  Only one discount per unit will apply.  Please reply by e-mail and provide enough detail so we can find and fix the bug.  Happy hunting.

Frank,
Haven't heard any feed back on the bug hunter discount. I know many of us found several. Is it still in effect, for how long, what units does it apply. To be clear, discounts for multiple finds are not cumulative, correct? Three bug finds @ 5% discount each would allow for 5% discount on three units and not 15% discount on one unit. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Ron

I have the bug e-mails filed away here.  One 5 percent discount per unit, as many and whatever units you want for the next year.  OK

Frank:

That is very generous.  Thank you.  I'm sure that I'll find something(s) to buy within the next year.  :D
