Ok based on some modifications out here, and some helpful advise, I thought to myself a few things as I noticed that the stock PSU sounds pretty damn good with some filtering behind it. Granted the poor SB needs a buffer or it never sounds that good at all with a removed OPAMP.
There are three spots inside of a SB to power, for the most part.
Smart things to do as known by all modders... Seperate out the power going to the DAC via the digital and analog, from the rest of the hardware. Proposed idea is to run three seperate switching PSUs. Two 5v and one 3.3v. You can buy the 3.3v say for a Linksys router on Ebay for not much. I think eventually taking a stock PSU switcher and re-boxing and through in better components might be smart (better caps etc).
This is just an idea. I think it would only work with Felix style filtration though. This has the oppertunity to be an inexpensive way to get good power, and much much less noise, into your SB2/3.
