I can obtain these in the following values:

FT1  0.01 uf 200v
FT1  0.015 uf 200v
FT1  0.022  uf 200v
FT3  0.10 uf 600v
FT3  0.22 uf 600v
FT3  0.47 uf 200v

And I will have plenty of extra sets of the Paper In Oil K40Y9 RIAA caps for the Cornet or Cornet2.  Each set has 2 each of 0.001uf and 2 each of 0.047uf caps.

Please email me if you want to participate in another group purchase of these Russian Teflon caps.  Email me at jim_howard_pdx@yahoo.com with any questions.

Update on the 3rd Group teflon purchase:

I shipped out a bunch of my own caps so folks could try some teflons.  I need to replenish what I need to have in stock for the years to come.  Teflons this cheap will not last forever.

If anyone wants some PIO or Teflon caps shoot me an email to jim_howard_pdx@yahoo.com.

I am listening to the FT-3 0.22uf caps in my Clarinet right now.  Simply marvelous.  Break in seems less troublesome with the bigger value caps for one reason or another....  I have it paralleled with a Mundorf 0.82 uf 1200V Silver Supreme in oil.

Wow.  Wall to wall sound with clarity and a better grip on the complex stuff.  The Clarinet is a commanding and compelling piece with the few upgraded parts I stuffed on the board.  If you don't own a Clarinet its time to save up your nickles dimes and quarters.  This piece is the stand out piece in my system right now.  Every source sounds light years better than before.  It is totally silent and has a grip on the music that feels like a race car driver negotiating the race course.  There is a stored up energy level that just explodes on impact.  I am not sure I can describe the sound in a better way.

It is snowing here in Reno....Everyone have a safe and enjoyable weekend.

Cheers!

Christ! It's snowing in Reno and the leaves have just barely started turning color in SE Washington state 600 miles to the north!

Oops...sorry, OT.

I am still awaiting final confirmation from my Ukrainian supplier.

If anyone else wants to try the teflons it might not be too late to get in your own Teflon request.

Cheers!

Two of three boxes have shipped on or before Oct 24th.  The final box is shipping Monday.  I will have all the shipping boxes ready to go so these can go out the next day after I receive them.

Thanks again for participating in the group purchases.  We save a lot of money by combining our orders together.

Cheers

Yes this is true.  Tomorrow is Halloween and a 4th group purchase is in the works.  These Teflon caps are bewitching!   No tricks...only sonic treats!  These caps can deliver a level of clarity and dynamics that no other caps seem to capture the same way.  My favorite mix right now is a .82 Mundorf Silver In Oil and a .22uf FT3 as the final coupling cap on my Hagerman line stage.  My Clarinet has never sounded better.

I put the availability information in the upper post.  Email me at jim_howard_pdx@yahoo.com if you would like to participate.

Jim:

I know it's not on your list but I will still ask - any experience with .68 PIO K40Y9? Wondering how it might be as an output cap with the larger valued FT3s or as a B+cap with a FT3. Price is surely right and may be worth an experiment on my part.
I would have to re-do my CHIME and C2 "cabinets". Thanks again for your previous efforts.

Thanks

Bob

Robert!

I have had poor success with the 0.10uf 400v K40Y9's.  They didn't have the magic of the Sprague Vitamin Q PIO caps.

However the 0.22uf PIO is one of my favorities.

The 0.47 has a little deeper and darker overall sound but is also very robust.

I have not heard the 0.68 and I would love to try these myself.  I saw some 1.0 uf K40Y9's a while back but they were only 200v and this is half the voltage value I would like for B+ chores.

I will check availability of the 0.68uf K40Y9's.  These might be a superb sounding cap combination if combined with a 0.47 FT-3.

Here is an update on the 3rd group buy as of Friday 11/07/2008.  I received a note that the postal service wants me to come in and sign for the first of three boxes.

I might be able to start shipping some of these orders as early as Saturday.  I will email each person with their tracking number upon shipment.

Cheers!
