I have a pair on these I was thinking about trying them on an open baffle. Was wondering what baffle dimensions would work well with these?

Hi Skite,
I played with the ferrite version of the 8" Omega Hemp.  Louis designed these drivers to see a wide baffle (15" is the width of the Maxhemp) so the baffle I used was 15".  I really liked the sound of the Omega 8" on open baffle but I believe bass augmentation will be required regardless of reasonable baffle width.  I have read where some have had decent bass using the Wharfdale (?) baffle, the baffle that is about 3' tall and 3.5' wide (those dimensions are probably incorrect).  I did not have the room to try baffles this wide in my space.

A single 12"?  I don't believe I mentioned what to use for bass augmentation, maybe I don't understand your question.  FWIW, I have been using a single 15" Augie (per speaker) for everything below 200 Hz in my system for quite some time with excellent results.  This of course is in my small space, YMMV.

I was really looking for dimensions for the baffle itself with the fr8's. I haven't decided yet on how I will augment the bass. I have 2 small subs now but am thinking about a pair of 15 in.  with a plate amp at some point. So I would need to take that into consideration when building the baffle.
