Hey Rick,

Is the turkey whole or sliced for sandwiches? That will make a difference on the side dish we bring.

Oh, maybe I missed it but what time were you looking to start? Laura has a shower to go to but it starts early. Be sure to PM me you address too.

Hey Joe and Scott,

Joe, I will add you to the list. Scott, the turkey and ham will be sliced for sandwiches. Sarah will be making some finger food type appetizers as well. I will PM everyone my directions later this week. I'm excited to see you all at my place!

Can't make it due to work, but PLEASE take some photos of the guys, gals and gear.  We had gotten out of the habit until Scott's Christmas in September bash.  It was great to see all the faces and gear and good times.  Have fun and play something loud for me. :thumb:

Hey Rick,

Laura said we'd brig some Mostaccioli or Ziti and some sort of cake for dessert.

Mark, I'll be sure to bring a camera and post a few pics.

Hey Mark,

Sorry you can't make it. We will take some pics though for sure. Scott, as for the start time we are thinking around 3:00 PM until whenever. I was talking with Sarah more tonight and we should be in pretty good shape for the main course items but we could still use side dishes / desserts for folks who would like to bring something. We will have a few cases of beer / soda to drink but for those who like a specific brew or wines, etc should bring those as well. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!

Thanks,

Rick

I'll bring a desert. Do you want me to bring my battery power supply (has 12VDC and 5VDC out) to try on your SqueezeBox?

Hey Chris,

The battery power supply will be fun to play with so bring it along if that is not a problem :) The party will start at 3:00 PM and last till whenever. I PM'd the folks the address for my place for anyone who has not been out before. Go ahead and shoot me a note if I missed anyone. We can still hold a few more at the party if anyone else would like to come out for some fun. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday!

Thanks,

Rick

Neighbors are out of town?  I bet we could let ourselves in and fill up 3-4 more rooms with gear   :icon_twisted:

It'll be another great party.  I just hope we don't trash your beautiful house too much Rick!

Hello,

I just discovered this group.  I used to sell stereo equipment in Omaha, NE in the 1970's.

My current system is being rebuilt a bit, Bozak Concert Grands (moving from "E" type to fully populated - replacements for Audio Research T-1D), Linear Research M-60 amps (mono 6550 based), Audio Research SP-4, and a B&O 4002.

Any chance of me getting in on the listening session tomorrow?  If so, what victuals shall I bring?

Hey Ryan,

I like the sound of that! My digital camera is not that great so it will be cool to have some nice pics. Everything has come together nicely for the party. See you all in a bit.  :D

I had a great time (though too short) listening to all the systems.  Ryan's speakers sounded pretty nice in the big front room.  And even though "I'm too old for this kind of music" according to Ryan, the big dyns really pounded us with techno 'take the blue pill, take the red pill'. :thumb:  Sorry I couldn't stay longer but sure was fun while it lasted. Thanks Rick and please come over anytime you can make it out west.

MerRev needs to be fined by the club for bringing a preamp missing one of its tubes!!!

Where are the pics????

Great party Rick and Sarah  :thumb:

Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with all us audio geeks.

I have to say that the synergy of Bryan's system in the upstairs bedroom was extremely good. That big Korato amp mated with the Bolder SB and Korato pre all driving those little (but huge sounding) ACI Sapphire's was a real treat. Ryan's speakers and the Empirical gear really filled the big space of the living room/kitchen extremely well. They had a nice even sound top to bottom, really spacious. Now if we could just load some real music on that hard drive

Then there were the big Dyn's. After swapping the RCA clear tops for the Mullard box plate CV4004s in the Odyssey Candella the overall balance changed for the better. Then Chris (BPT) brought down his battery power supply. Thats when the Odyssey/Dyn system really snapped to attention. Gone was the grain, the background blackened and the tonal balance changed again for the better. Pretty impressive. I didn't get a chance to hear Chris' power cord but those that did said it made another significant improvement.

Anyway, we had a great time. Again, its great that the girls are coming to our outings. That and its good to see some more new faces, welcome Ken! Unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera so we'll have to rely on Ryan for pics.

Mark, thanks for the fix  :thumb:

Hey Rick

Thanks for hosting this.  I had a great time.  Please pass on my thanks to Sarah.  There was a lot of good food there - kinda felt like a warmup for Thanksgiving!

All the systems came together nicely.  I didn't get to listen to the difference when they directly replaced power supplies but it was sounding very good by the time I made it downstairs with the Brimars in the Candella and the BPT battery supply for the SB3.  We'll definitely need to do a little listening if the BPT is still there when I come over to pick up the equipment.
