« on: 5 Oct 2008, 11:45 pm »
I want to upgrade the caps on my tube buffer. What values do you recommend? I currently have Russian Oil Caps rated at .47uf 200v. Thanks

You mean bypassing them ith the oil caps.
Yes this values would work fine.
As long the voltage is above 200volts it is fine.

Do you mean changing the 300uF capacitors?

Yes, I meant the 300uf capacitors in the tube buffer. What values in terms of uf do you recommend? Thanks

I want to change out the 300uf capacitors completely. Do I need to change them with the same value? Thanks

you don't have to replace 300uf but the voltage is important. Watch out for the voltage, it needs to be 250volts and above
i have used 47uf Mundorf Mcaps and it works really well

i had customers who used sprague 100uf and they like it a lot
another brand which another customer said is good is illinois capacitor

again any value would work
but try to use values of uF starting from 10uF and above. too low may cause noise built up
