Posting the New Issue
« on: 2 Oct 2008, 10:04 pm »
Affordable Audio used to be able to post on the 1st of the month, but anymore I think it's basically the first weekend of the month.  Nevertheless I enjoy reading the articles whenever they finally get posted,  Of course, I wish they weren't in a "PDF format" as it takes forever and fourteen eternities for me to download on my "dial up" connection.  Oh well, I'll read the issue when it's posted.  Jeez, why does the posting process make it such a PITA to post?

Eeyore, is that you?  Why don't you ask for a subscription refund and use it to pay for a modern high speed internet service?

Dial Up? Look out your window are there any Wooly Mammoths strolling by? Is a horse and buggy rough on the behind? Hey I heard there is a local plague brewing. Better stay indoors just to be safe.  :green:

Need to get into the 21st century dude....

Paper magazines are going away.

How do you get anything done with a dialup connection?

It's only Oct 2...  Do your paper magazines arrive at your
mailbox on the same day every month? Mine don't....

Jeff i have a better idea. Lets ask all the monthlies to transmit via smoke signals or drums. If that doesnt work i think there is a telegraph around here. And i hear that the pony express is still around

Is the OP for real???

Didn't realize that people around here were so "SENSITIVE".  And I do certainly want to apoligize for being a retiree on a fixed income and not willing to go "broadband" as I just hit the internet on a every now and then bases (why spend the extra money/).  Other than that, I'll make it a point NT visit here anymore as I certainly don't want to get people's "panties in a wad".

You're the one whining about not having a broadband
connection in the first place, so I kind of think you're
the one who got their panties in a wad...

sibwalker,

We need members, so please don't go. The issue with TONEPUB is not an issue with Audiocircles. I certainly respect Jeff and his publication, you are operating in a dinosaur computer environment, which is not Jeff's' problem.

You must have a lot of knowledge so lets get off this and go onto a fun subject. Start a new thread!

We were joking... but you do need a faster connection. I know local libraries have internet use. Perhaps you could download and burn a copy of the zine there and transfer it to your home.

Mark is a very nice guy, I'm sure if you work something out with him, he could probably even
burn em on a CD and send them to you...

I'm glad this toned down. I just tuned in and it seemed pretty brutal. High speed internet isn't a priority to everyone. Welcome aboard Sibwalker!

I can get behind all this warm and fuzziness.  Imho, the point needs to be made that what A$$A and Tone Audio does really is a labor of love.  These are free publications people!  Where else can you get this quality of publishing art and chit chat with the creators and writers?  This may not be 100% applicable, but an old saying about never look a gift horse in the mouth comes to mind.

Ciao & Peace to all

Hi Guys:
The October issue will be ready by Sunday night.  Sorry for the delay, but life got in the way and things had to be taken care of at my school.  I hate being late, thank goodness for the weekend to get caught up.
For those of you without broadband a few readers I know go to public libraries, computer stores, or in one case they use their wireless capability and stop by a hotel parking lot to get an open connection.  If none of these options work for you let me know and I can burn a cd and mail it to you.
Cheers,
Mark
