Noobe Squeezebox question, please
« on: 27 Sep 2008, 09:07 pm »
I want to use Windows Media Player with a Squeezebox with a Benchmark USB DAC.  What I need to know is where do I get the digital data stream from to input to the Benchmark DAC?  Does it come from the Squeezebox?  Or does it come from the USB port on the computer?  Or does it come from the Computers sound card?  Help please.  I am a total noobe to computer audio.  Thanks.

You will download squeezecenter and use that as your player instead of media player. It is either attached to your Squeezebox with a hardwire (cat5 cable) or as most of us do with a wireless connection via wireless router. The squeezebox will feed your dac, with an upgraded power supply the squeezebox is an excellant source.

Thank you.  I think I understand you.  I hope that I could get Wi-Fi internet radio through that same system, right?  I will probably use the internet radio more than the tunes off my hard drive at this point.
