Monarchy DIP - a few questions.
« on: 24 Sep 2008, 10:30 pm »
Hi.

Can anyone tell me which would be the best model for me to buy from the Monarchy range? I don't care about upsampling, as my DAC does this well enough.

It would be good if it can reduce jitter of both 16/44.1 and 24/96 signals equally.

I see the new "Classic" has a precision 44.1KHz clock, so that means it will not be great with original 96KHz signals right? Does it down sample them to 44.1KHz or does it pass them through withought processing? Is the "Classic" is only great for CD's?

The "DIP MK2 24/96" seems like it may be the best bet. Is it's clock equally as good with 16/24 and 24/96 signals, just may be not as good as the dedicted "Classic" at 44.1KHz? Is it a Jack of all tades?

Thanks
