Hi,
This is my first post in the forum,
I have a quad 22l2 speakers with marantz sacd 7001ki series cdp, vdhl c122 speaker cables and vdh integrated interconnects and the amp ......
when i was searching for an amp i came across a person selling oddessy stratos plus power amp and oddessy candela tube pre amp. Can i buy this and will it match my speakers as quad are very bright speakers and i feel oddessy are warm ones.
please advice,

Welcome to the forum.

The Odyssey's aren't what I'd call TOO warm - but they lean to that side.  If you do the Stratos Extreme, it's has a bit more warmth.  You can also play with the tonal balance a little with some tube rolling in the Candella

Odyssey amps are good quality solid-state amps.  They have no tone; they're neither bright nor warm.

If you feel your speakers are too bright I recommend an equalizer - you can't solve that problem with a power amplifier.

I don't exactly know what a Stratos plus amp sounds like, but do know what the monoblocs will sound like. They are not what I'd like to call a neutral sounding amp, but pretty close. Maybe slightly warmer and with much more body than your typical upper end solid state amp. I have told Klaus Bunge more than once that they remind me of the "Accuphase house sound," but with alot more presense & speed. Now an Accuphase amp ain't exactly a bad amp to listen to if that matters, but I like the Odysseys better. If those amps are Stratos Monoblocs and can be bought for a reasonable price I'd jump on them, and then plan on an upgrade next year to the latest and greatest whatever they are doing then.
As good has the Odyssey amps are, I actually think maybe the Candella is better. I've lived with the second one sold for nearly two years now. It's not perfect, but it's about as perfect as $4,000 will get you for about $1400. There is absolutly no color whatsoever to this preamp. Extremely neutral, but not sterile. There is no tape loop, and has three inputs (I wish it had five). Does come with a HT bypass that can be used for another processor circut (I'm adding a second preamp in my system). I've found it's a little bit cable selective, and very powercord selective (buy a good one). This preamp dosn't seem to get in the way of any piece of source equipment (if it does I've never heard it), and for some odd reason is by a wide margin the best preamp I've ever used with a turntable (it dosn't come with a phonostage). Does vocals about as well as any I've heard and better than 98%. By the way this pereamp drives tube amps very well too. It's just a good preamp in everyway.
