For amplification I use a CJ Premiere 3 pre-amp ( Bill Thalman mods ) driving a Bob Latino ST70. The Latino uses NOS Mullard drivers and Genalex re-issue KT 88s. Plays louder with a nicer sense of ease than one would expect for 40 watts. I feel this is mostly due to the over-all superb and well balanced design of the SongTower. Main digital source is a Pioneer Elite PD93. Yes it may be a relic of sorts, but it has more of an analog signature with real bass "weight" than a dozen or so modern CDPs and DACs I've brought through here over the years. I might quickly add that none of the modern candidates had a list price over $1500 however. To complete the picture, room size is 14 X 16 X 9 and I listen to mostly jazz, blues and folk. Analog sources are all Nottingham and all key ICs are Morrow MA 2. Clear Day 3X Shotgun speaker cables complete the package.
