Dodd Battery Preamp & Low Input Impedance Amps ?
« on: 19 Sep 2008, 02:35 pm »
Hi,

Anyone using or have any experience with the Dodd Battery Preamp driving an amp of low input impedance?
By low impedance, I mean 10K ohms or less (yikes!). Perhaps not problems relative to volume level drive but more along the lines of frequency anomolies like loss of deep bass, mucked up midrange or roll highs?
Thanks!

The person that has probably put this pre with a variety of amps is the designer himself.  Call Gary.  He'll give you a straight answer.

Yep, I did ask Gary and he doesn't see any issues. I'm still looking for some real-world user experiences around this type of situation.
Thanks!

My Symphonic Line Kraft mono 400's are rated at 10K Ohms, like all Symphonic and Odyssey amps are..in truth, MGalusha measured his Odyssey mono's at 18K ohms, so I'm not sure my Krafts are a true 10K, but my Dodd sounded really really great with the Krafts.
