Audiophile Product Placement
« on: 17 Sep 2008, 01:42 pm »
I watched the TV show House last night.

They rarely film at his residence but last night's episode gave the viewers a glimse from the front door and in the background I saw these

The Dueval Bella Luna Diamante looked fantastic for the brief time they were shown.  Anyone here own these?  If so, I would appreciate your thoughts.

Has anyone else seen any high end products on TV shows?  IIRC Friends had ML speakers shown at one time.

I noticed he has a SOTA TT in his office too.  Wasn't sure about the speakers.

SOTA is also listed in the end credits each week.

Can anyone identify the vintage gear in " That 70's Show " ? It's down in Red's basement where the kids sit around and get high .

I'm not positive about this but in the first few seasons of the show CSI I think they displayed some McIntosh gear at home of the leading male actor.

The appearance of Diamante's was noted a while back in the "Audio In Fiction" thread - click here.

And this is a somewhat related thread re: celebrity audiophiles.

I think the speaker with the white woofer is a JBL 88 or a JBL-L88+12 (the L100 kit version that has the midrange as an add on) or an L100. You never really get a good shot at them. The receiver might be a Kenwood.

Dueval makes a nice speaker....these were a fellow Raver's...Tito. Sorry to say he has since sold them...but they sounded very good Lou. :thumb:

Hi Wolf,

I knew that rig looked familiar. I'll be seeing Tito next week before he flies back to NY. :)

So as not to be OT

Angelina Jolie's Lara Croft used a Clearaudio Maximum Solution in Tomb Raider, Robert Redford had a VPI TNT in Indecent Proposal, Mel Gibson's character had a Levinson and Revel system in What Women Want,  Chandler and Joey had Martin Logans on Friends. House uses THOR amplification to drive the duevels. Jack Nicholson had McIntosh electronics in As Good as it Gets. That's all I can think of for now.

Martin Logan speakers - Malcolm in the Middle - Family's garage/shed

NAD AVR - The Italian Job (new version) - "Napster's" house

McIntosh seperates -   The Departed - Matt Damon's characters house
