What is High Fedelity? Please look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hifi

There is a one word definition for hifi as well: Transparency

Words the hifi enthusiast should avoid at all costs: Warm, dark, sterile, boosted, cut, tube sound (what!?!) and various other adjectives.

Audiophiles should not want to look at the world through rose colored glasses.

I know how to design amplifiers that are transparent. It is a fact that there are no components within my amps that can contour the source's sound. They can be designed for specific purposes, but my base design does not have negative feedback or any complex circuits that can degrade the source. On my web site you will find a underside photo of a Le-100 amplifier. Compare that to what you see with other power amplifier models, past and present. Big difference? We design everything like this.

I __did__ say tube sound was NOT HiFi! That's because most people believe tube amps sound a certain way, be it warm or some other description. I agree- many of them do sound warm or have some other stereotype attached to them. Please throw away ANY stereotypical sound signatures related to tube equipment as a whole. Tube amps and preamps do not have any signature unless the designer intends them to have one! I know what causes specific signatures and as a result can eliminate them or install them. For High fidelity, I completely eliminate all signatures.

Niteshade Audio is your source for HiFi equipment.

I can vouch for this. I have the Le-100a and it is easily the most transparent amp I have ever owned.
