Desk top speaker system to be aware of?

I stumbled on this interesting looking desk top system with a seemingly impeccable pedigree for a silly low price, and thought I would pass it on.

How does 25 - 20k ±10dB and 40 - 18k ± 2.5dB with bi-amped satellites with 2-50w amps each and a sub with 100w, all designed by Laurie Fincham of KEF fame sound, all for $400?

Could this be a Polk iSonic on steroids and with reliability?

see page 98

They seem scarce - only one source in Canada (and online only) - so I haven't heard it, but I am thinking of taking a chance, based on this review and the aforementioned pedigree.

i have an old monsoon system i picked up off ebay; hard to beat, for the money, imo.  looks something like this, but i think the sub on my iteration is a bit better...

if you keep your eyes peeled, these come up f/a every now and again.  the ribbons, btw, are what vmps mods & uses in their speakers...

I own the Monsoon 1000, which is pretty good, but it doesn't nearly compare to the the Swans m200, which I also own. The main drawback of the swans is their size, but the sound is very nice and easy on the ears as well. not quite high end, but very musical midfi at a bargain price.

I <3 Razer.  I'm currently rocking the Tarantula keyboard and Copperhead Mouse -  and have had zero issues with each. Stellar performance...    It looks like they are following this trend of high quality with this product, which has me a bit excited...   hmm....

What does <3 mean?  You own them? I was interested in the Razer. Is it a good music/video gamers delight?
Whats the word on the street mate?

Mcullinan .   <3 =  love.  It's a bit of a strong word, as I'm only experienced in their keyboards and mice... not their audio/visual shtuff.  So far, the word on ze street about the headphones is that they rock.  This system is new to me, but I'd love to check it out sometime. As much as I enjoy having a massive over-kill system for my PC...  sometimes, the idea of downgrading to something much more cost effective and simple is quite alluring..

West,
that's the best link I've seen for images. It also has some reviews, for what they're worth:

"Don't get me wring, these speakers are FANTASTIC sounding, but you can get the BOSE speakers for the same price or a number of surround systems for less." unquote...

Boy, it's amazing what a selling job Bose has done.
