FS: Carver ZR1000 w/quiet fan

Asking $400 shipped, or can do slightly less if you're in Los Angeles, (I can likely drop it off...)

This is for a Carver ZR1000 professionally modified (by the dealer) with a very quiet Papst fan.

This is a professional amplifier which uses Tripath circuit topology. It's incredibly musical, very tubey, with a fantastic midrange, smooth treble, and amazing bass control. Being a pro-sound item, it is very reliable, and will not fail in the next 20 years or so. It has a beefy toroidal transformer, and defeatable level controls and a defeatable high-pass crossover.

It is the best sounding amplifier I have ever heard. Sound reminds me most of a pair of Monarchy SM70 zero feedback Class A bridged/balanced monoblock amps, but with tangible power.

I am replacing it with a UCD400 do-it-yourself amplifier for the satisfaction of having components that I built. Hopefully it will sound as good as the Carver. Hopefully better, but we'll see.

Specs:
700 watts mono (8ohm)RMS
300 watts x 2 (4ohm)RMS
225 watts x 2 (8ohm)RMS

Peace,
-Tal

Wow... this is still in the garage. Bump for a great amplifier, at a really good price!

Thanks,
