On all my amps the wood is a part of the structure and I believe we were the first to do this in 1985. Now I see it everywhere. The SE has brass inserts for machine screws, just one of the nice details on the SE so the frame screws match the socket type screws on the top plate. We have frames of both types in oak, rosewood and black lacquer.
