Has anyone tried the Apple TV's USB output?

Has anyone tried the Apple TV's USB output?

My DAC (Musical Fidelity XDAC-V8) accepts USB and coax but not optical.

I'm thinking of trying the ATV as a music player but I just have no idea how well or not well the USB output works/sounds for audio.

It is a fun time to be an audiophool!

It does not output audio data. You can find an inexpensive optical-coax converter here.

That's what I was afraid of-.  Do the optical to coax converters sound good?  I think HagTech makes a USB to coax converter that I might need for a different problem.  Are you aware of any others?
