Google writes a web browser

I'm not sure why, but here it is:

I would prefer that that they take a chunk out of MS instead of FireFox, but in all honesty I doubt it.

I'd be happy to post AC access stats for browsers in a month, if someone reminds me ;)

I just downloaded and installed Google's browser Chrome. Typing this from Chrome and it is pretty intuitive. I have read that it is very fast, so I wanted to try it out on my Vista 64-bit laptop. So far so good - "fast" is relative, since the internet itself and the hosting environment determine a lot of how fast the browsing experience is.

I am happy that it is so intuitive and behaves a lot like IE and Firefox do for me.

Tabs are nice and when you open a new one it gives you thumbnails of other sites you have visited...

I have 3 browsers to play with on my laptop and will see which I like best for which situation - hopefully all 3 will be useful - the most convenient will probably get used on my laptop :)

D/L it here:    http://www.google.com/chrome

One thing I like is how you can set it up to open your favorite web sites all at startup time in different tabs.
So for example, you can open "Yahoo Finance", GMail, and AudioCircle, all at startup time.  Nice.

You can do this in IE 7 as well (not that I like IE in any way). Just open the ones you want and then go to internet options and click the use current button in the home page section. Or you can just enter them, one per line.

I do the same thing in FF. Since I'm mostly in the same sites everyday, when turning off the PC at night, I leave the FF window open. Next morning when I start FF, it asks me if I want to restore the old sessions or just start a new empty one.

Wow.  I had to go look this up elsewhere to verify.  I think this breaks their do no evil mantra.
I will never use this product now.

Apparently Google, has just truncated the offending Section 11 in the EULA.
I will have to ponder whether they have become evil or not.

Doesn't google own your gmail content, as well?  I always thought so.  I don't particularly care, since it's easy to access and I have nothing to hide, but I didn't think it was anything new.
