Yet another 30.2 review, and more...
« on: 30 Aug 2008, 03:29 am »
All,

I was informed by our distributor in Sweden that the latest issue of HiFi & Musik magazine (Swedish) hit the news stands with a glowing review of the Signature 30.2.  aa

Here is a translated excerpt from the review:

Hifi & Musik, #9  September 2008
Test of Red Wine Audio Sitnature 30.2 Integrated Amplifier by Olle Linder

This amplifier does a lot of things correctly from the very first note. Dynamic is good. It plays with a lot more authority than the size and weight indicates. A lot of pounding power per pound! The bass is good: stable, distinct and with good separation.

As a whole the nature of this amplifier is like soft velvet with excellent body. It is never pushing – most solid state amplifiers are pushing the sound onto the listener from the moment the on/off switch is pushed on. This amp works quite differently. It plays very relaxed and pleasant but also reveals all those elegant and airy transients. The sound is still distinct and clear.

The velvet character is emphasized by the fact that Signature 30.2 reproduces the treble very much the same way as Ortofon SPU. At first it sounds as it is rolled off, you won’t notice the treble, but then when you hear a clash on the cymbals it sounds exactly as you should expect.

I am most impressed of it’s ability to make me engaged in the music even on low listening levels. A rare quality!  This amplifier is very high on my ranking. A mix of Lavardin IT and Pass Aleph 3.

We also were informed that the WLM La Scala just received an award from German online review site, Fairaudio:

On top of this, German print magazine Image HiFi just released a very favorable review of the La Scala and this is being translated and I'll post a link to it soon....  :)

Finally,RWA will be exhibiting at CES in January, 2009 with WLM!  We'll be in the Venetian Tower, 29th floor, Room 318.

First things first - Rocky Mountain Audio Fest is in October and we are very excited for this!  We're looking forward to seeing many of you there, and for those who cannot make it, hopefully you'll be able to visit us at CES!  8)

Have a fun and relaxing weekend,

Vinnie
