Recently I've been turned on to Holly Cole "Temptation".
Love it, love it, love it....

But then one day I was listening to the Bluesville channel on satellite and heard what I would have bet money was Holly Cole. As it turns out it was a new vocalist/guitarist Hope Waits

WOW. She's amazing.

Thanks for the insight into Hope Waits!! Being a huge fan of Holly Cole, I'll definitely be buying Hope Waits CD. Nice voice off her tracks on the website.

The song I heard that turned me on to her was "You've crossed the line".

I listened to the first half of her CD last night on the system and like it very much.
This morning on the way to work I listened to the second half. Good stuff.
There's a few songs that almost have a Norah Jones quality to her voice. But with a slight bit more of that "guttural, deeper, attitude", if you know what I mean.

Track #1, and #2 on the CD are worth the price of admission alone as far as I'm concerned.
The rest is just icing on the cake.
Very good sound quality on the disc by the way. Not bass shy by any stretch of the imagination either, but very tactful.

I just received this CP due to your recommendation. Very nice. I think she has a broader range than Holly Cole musically speaking. You can hear the New Orleans influence from growing up there. She even covers a Tom Waits song.

How is the recording quality? Listening to the samples on my computer I heard too much backing and not enough vocals. Kind of dark and thick in the middle. I hate when a good voice gets stepped on. My computer system sucks so I can't trust it. That is why I am asking for the opinions of those who gave the CD a fair listen.

Very cool collection. Cassandra Wilson is one of my top five jazz vocalists. Her Rendezvous album (with Jacky Terasson) and her New Moon Daughter album are incredible, and demo pieces.

Just received this CD in the mail yesterday. Very enjoyable. I am a big Holly Cole fan and thanks for the recommendation on this artist. The recording quality is very good on this CD. A pleasure to listen to.
