FS: GE 6550A Welded Plate Pairs (ANOS)
« on: 17 Aug 2008, 02:26 am »
I've got several GE 6550A Welded Plate ANOS pairs available.

If you wanted to try NOS, but the price has scared you off,  here's your chance to try some without breaking the bank.

These pairs has lots of life left, and will outlast the later stapled plate types. All getters have plenty of flash left.

80.00 per pair. Add 3% for paypal, plus shipping. (you pay what I pay, no extra shipping charge).

I have sold several GE 6550A quads here, and all customers have been very happy.

PM if interested.

I've switched to NOS Tung Sols, thus the reason for selling the majority of tubes.  I'll keep a couple just for collector's sake.

Mostly out of curiosity, what is the trade rate for these against Tung Sols?

Also, the phrase "These pairs has lots of life left" indicate that there are not actually NOS - ?

Thx ;)

Hi John,

There really is no trade rate per se on the Tung Sols. I've been getting them when I can a good deal. If I had to work out a exchange rate,  the Tung Sols are (roughly) 50% again higher than the GE.  :|  Occasionaly, I get lucky, and find them for a very good price.

You are right, ANOS means almost new stock  That's why I am offering them for 40.00 a tube. They are a better buy than NOS stapled types (IMHO), as my longevity history with them is way longer than the stapled plate types.

I really wish I could get used to the SED 6550C. The sound on them is just not what I had hoped for.  If I'm just listening for background, the Sylvania 6550 or GE just sounds better in my rig. (YMMV)  I use the Tung Sol for serious listening.
