Nice write-up!  As I read your descriptions of the amp's characteristics I couldn't help but think it sounded an awful lot like a high power Signature 30. does to my ears.
Bet the Karan would sound really sweet with the Sapphire XLs.

Thanks Jim.  Unfortunately, the review meant for print has yet to be posted...   

Having once owned the Signature 30 for a few months, I can safely say that it shares very little in common with the Karan; aside from a black back-round.  However - I hear the 30.2 is a completely different animal, one that I'd love to get my ears on one day.   

As for the XL's. Honestly, it doesn't take an audio village to make them sound good. In fact, I don' think there are too many electronics out there that would make them sound bad. I miss them.
