Horn speakers for Jim?

I read on your Weblog about your not getting good sound from the Frankenvandys and have a suggestion.

I've been building and using Wayne Parhams Pi designs for years, mainly his JBL 2226 with 1" compression drivers, 4 Pi Pros. Waynes just upgraded the crossover design and the performance of the 2226 takes a major step up http://audioroundtable.com/PiSpeakers/messages/22762.html. So far I've tried it with my bigger 3.5 cu ft bass reflex box but I'm nearing completion on his 2.5 cu ft design. With the B&C DE-250 driver and Eminence H-290 horn, the combination is 97dB sensitive and is equally at home with rock, jazz or classical. Others have used various Altec and JBL horn drivers; a friend has 2" Altec 399s with Edgar Horns and that really is killer. Other mid-bass drivers can be used but the 2226 with it's shorting ring and massive motor combines taught bass with an excellent mid-range crossed at 1600 hz.

Wayne has the parts for sale but gives away the plans and all the 'secrets' at Audio Roundtable http://audioroundtable.com/PiSpeakers/. You'll probably be interested in his Pi Speakers Crossover Document http://www.pispeakers.com/Speaker_Crossover.doc if you can get your computer to work  aa Check it out.

I should check it out.  Almost willing to just get some belle klipsch and start from there.  Too short on time right now for a lot of cabinetry.

I'm about ready to veneer the 4Pi Pros in Walnut, 18x26x14, and will have the empty boxes taking up space.

Pretty simple build, really. I hate to put the Martinelli wood horns on the shelf but I'm going to 'indoor plumbing'.
