It certainly looked like a vapid, CGI wankfest in the trailer.  Well, not that any of them were really high art, but this one looks like the usual, "Hey we got a bigger render farm!  Let's add MORE CG armies!" crappola.

Again I disagree,,, I liked it. Excellent special effects, a lot of funny little skits that had the audience continually laughing and action,,,, lots and lots of action. Sure there were many times when I questioned why something was done, like it didn't make any sense(a lot of that this summer ) but unlike some of you folks, I don't watch a movie to critique,,, I want to be entertained and that I was with Mummy III. 3.5 out of 5 stars

In fact I'll state so far this summer I've only watched 1 stinker. I was so very diappointed with The X-Files. 1.5 out of 5 stars.

Yeah, the casting on this flick was pretty aweful. Rachael's replacement was not convincing ... there was no magic between them at all. His son was also pretty bad too, with little character development. On the other hand Jet Li and the Chinese women were pretty good.

Update: I recognize the sentiment is too extreme.  Consider this retracted (since I can't erase!).

They just want to "milk" the fans.  The movie-goers have now paid millions for those lousy hollywood script writers.  This is perhaps no different from the corporate executives robbing the investors and homeowners and walk away with their golden parachutes unscathed.

I bought tickets to this movie using discover credit card's buy 1 get 1 free offer. Still i felt cheated.
Mummy series was never great to begin with .. atleast they could be seen as goofball comedies...but the latest iteration is beyond any of that.

Two thumbs down!

We waited to watch this after it came out on DVD and watched it this afternoon.  No, it was definitely not as good as "The Mummy" but it was a fun movie to watch.  It is a good, entertaining rental!  3 stars out of 5.

Having Netflix, we aren't too concerned about wasting money (like $50 at the theater).
It's in the Netflix list, so if it sucks, we'd have wasted less than one dollar.
I liked the first two, corny of course, but worthwhile and entertaining.

I expected to hate this film, cause I really didn't care for the first two, but I found myself quite entertained by it. I'm not really sure why - maybe it's because the Chinese lady was so amazingly beautiful - but I enjoyed it.

While not nearly as good as the first two, it was entertaining and worth watching in the HT.

On Blu-ray, the picture and sound were excellent and up there with some of the best Blu-ray discs.

i just watched the first mummy on tv tonight and compared to this one, well it totally destroys it.  as mentioned, the boy and "new wife" totally killed the flow and they were very disjointed.  it was a cool concept, but i think the magic is now lost with the mummy trilogy.  sorry, but the same goes for indiana jones.  lets hope terminator 4 doesn't cheese out either.
