It's a transmitter tube which IIRC was used in radar sets. There's a few DIY designs floating around which use the 304TL, and I think there's maybe one or two manufacturers which use it in their tube amps. I'm kinda fuzzy on the latter though, I can't really remember if the amps they had were prototypes for an audio show or if they went into production with them.
