Get ready folks for a new monster amp to enter the market. For those of you that couldn't attend CEDIA, Anthem will soon be releasing their Statement P5 amplifier. Production began this week and they are projecting a general release by year's end. Original release was planned to coincide with the release of their new reference standard pre-pro the Statement D1 (projected MSRP in U.S. of $6,000) and P2 two-channel amp but there are some unforeseen hiccups with the D1 so instead of holding up the entire line, they are going to release the P5 without the D1.
This is a beast. 325W X 5 (8 ohms), has two power cords, requires two dedicated/isolated 20-amp circuits, has circuit breakers instead of fuses, and weighs > 140 lbs. A true King Kong that will certainly rock everyone's world. MSRP projected to be $5,000 (U.S.) --- a true "bargain".
I will be placing my pre-order in the next week or so. Unfortunately, not a lot of info about this unit at this time. I'm sure we'll see more in the next week or so.
