Stratos Age?
« on: 25 Jul 2008, 09:40 pm »
I just bought a used Stratos.  This is my second one.  The first one I bought new, this one I bought for my brother used from Audiogon.  I've got the amp.  It has the 120mfd cap upgrade.  It's in very nice shape and seems to sound like I remember my Stratos to sound - very good.  I'd like to know what vintage it is.

The SN# is 00-580.  It has a green circuit board.  The speaker binding posts are not WBT, like I had on mine, but some similarly heavy duty thing, heavily knurled, and also with a bearing collar.  Should I just give Klaus a call?

Thanks.

Klaus would know best obviously as I'm sure he has records of when it was made and what exactly it has in it. As I'm sure you know the current boards are red so it is at least a few years old.

580  is a 2000 model.
We started with 500 late 2000,  and prior to that,  we had a different S/N system for several hundred units as well.
