An Adcom 5400 would power those Maggies nicely. I use one in my shop, plenty of high current and decent sound too.

There is currently a new 5400 on eBay.

Audire is a company you don't hear of very often but they made (sadly, past tense) great amps that can be had for a song on ebay.  Look for a Forte model - 125 watts channel into 8 (I think) ohms.  I've owned a couple of Audire amps in my day and they're built like tanks.

...is an older Model 2.  I don't know anything about this model but I doubt it will go over $150.

Bill: I bought this from AC facilitator Bill Berndt about a year ago (he powered his Maggies w/ it); I replaced it w/ a low-power amp for different speakers.  Bill sent me another natural-finish machined-aluminum faceplace plus I have the OEM faceplate but it's a bit scratched up.  Shipping won't be cheap I know, but you are welcome to try it for a week or so & return it for full refund minus delivery, returned in same condition.  This one may be hard to beat at the price.  I'll include a free cherry wood amp stand (must pay for separate shipping).

...AGE NOT A CONCERN...

This is self-serving & apologies for that, but all reliable independent professional sources seem to indicate that electrolytic capacitors have a shelf life of about 15 years.  They are mostly used in the power supply because of the higher voltages required, but sometimes may be found at other various sundry places throughout a circuit, especially in lower-priced amps.  It seems prudent to count on replacement cost at the appropriate age rather than hoping you'll luck out & they won't go bad, or purchase an amp that has verified replacements or get a newer amp, unless the price is so low that you can justify tossing it if they go bad (hum develops in the speakers).

Sprague caps are alleged to be the exception to the rule, 35 year old samples in the field routinely maintaining specification.
