New hard-drive power cord
« on: 17 Jul 2008, 09:22 pm »
I seem to have lost the power cord for my Maxtor Onetouch II 300GB hard-drive. It is one of those two piece units that has the ubiquitous power-pack attached to one piece of cord that plugs into the wall, and another piece of cord that on one end has a two-hole plastic connector that plugs into the power pack, and on the other end it has the round piece that connects to the back of the hard-drive.

The back of my drive says: 12V  3A

Any thoughts on where to acquire a new one?

Thank you,

you likely need a

Female(IEC-320-C7) to 2-prong Plug Male(NEMA 1-15-P) This type of cable is on my maxtor drive here at work. 10A 12.5v is stamped on the connector end and is unpolarized 2 pronger. This also applies to my Toshiba laptop power brick cable. they are interchangable.

Female(IEC-320-C7) is the part that plugs into the brick.

Low p.file: Thanks, that is part of the puzzle. I need the whole thing though, including the black box and the cord attached to it.
