I've been looking at some of these on ebay and thinking of picking one up.  While in college during the one of my room mates had one and that table producing some really really nice sound and carts are still available for them.  So which model represent the best of their offerings?

Not to be negative on this subject and certainly, do as you want, I have always thought Bang and Olufsen stuff had more eye appeal than ear appeal. They certainly spent engineering time and money on motorized doors and knobs and funky stuff like that. Their sound wasn't junk, but then, for the commanding price, always seemed to be a disappointment to me.

If memory still serves me, the only cartridge that most tables took was a "P" style. That will limit your choices.

Good luck finding one...at least they do look cool.

There are plenty of them on ebay and the Sound-Smith produces some mighty fine catrs for them.  As far as the "motorized doors and knobs and funky stuff like that" the TT are pretty simple and gimick free.  And again if you have ever heard one they sound pretty darn good by most standards.

I owned one of these lil puppies in the late 70's.  The radial tracking one was the top of the line.  Mine had a straight carbon pivot arm and was the next model down.  It was a little honey to use.  The platter itself was suspended some kinda of way from the deck.  Sprung, I think.  I remember it could do bass transients very well (Charlie Byrd DTD).  The B&O cartridge was their top of the line and like all at the time it gradually sloped as it went higher up in range.  Seems to me the whole thing was around $400.00.
