Analysis plus termination with 4B-ST
« on: 17 Jul 2008, 11:37 am »
I have owned a 4B-ST for a number of years and just purchased a set of Analysis Plus speaker cables with T1 lugs. They do not seem to fit the amps binding posts. I called A Plus first and asked what the correct connector for Bryston was and this was supposed to work. Is anyone else using A Plus cables and if so what ends do you have on them? Does the 4B-SST have the same issue or are there different connectors on the SST range that will accommodate T1 type connectors?
Thanks.

The answer is:

The T1 connector is a 5/16" spade lug, but it's 0.1" thick.

In the ST models the opening for the spades is 2mm, or 0.080", just a little too slim to accept the T1.

We can easily enough retrofit a set of Bryston's new clear binding posts with 3mm/0.12" opening, for $50.00 plus 2-way shipping to Vermont or here.  Hope that helps.

That would match exactly what I am seeing as I try to insert the spade prongs. Thank you James I will plan to send that unit in for the retrofit.
