Excellent! Now, the inevitable question: Between the S6 and the sealed SSR, which one do you think integrates better with a sub?

Both.  :icon_lol:

Seriously, either one can perform really well with a subwoofer. The S6 is excellent where space is at a premium or where your wife wants a smaller cabinet (12" x 8" x 9"). There are also two different crossovers available, one for close to / against the rear wall and the other for placement further away.

 Rick,
My vote is that you throw a pair of these in your suite case for your Oct trip to Colorado.  :thumb:

How does that tweeter compare to the G2 by AC?

Better question; why do you use this brand over the AC brand?

The previous version of the Fountek tweeter was the JP3. It was very much the same as the G2 in performance. The current version (CD3) replaced the ribbon material and is more durable than the G2 (in fact I've not had one CD3 fail). The G2 can be prone to "stretching" if overdriven or used with crossover points / slopes that don't fully protect the tweeter. This causes the ribbon to sag (bow inward) and reduces output in the lower range of the tweeter (often seen as a dip around the crossover point). The ribbon is also very sensitive to air movement which is why a protective cover is placed over the front during shipping. I also think the Fountek sounds a little cleaner due to the better internal damping of the ribbon material.

I still think the G2 is a good tweeter; in fact, I've used it in a few other projects for customers. The Fountek was a no-brainer for me in that it sounds as good (better to me for the CD3) and is less expensive. As to why the G2 is more expensive I don't know; in fact, the G2's original price was even higher before the Fountek JP3 became available as direct competition.
