FS: GR Research 0-3's in Black Walnut
« on: 16 Jul 2008, 11:08 am »
These are a set of 0-3's that I built from Danny's kit. They are solid MDF construction per Danny's instructions/plans and then to SPICE things up they have SOLID joined Black Walnut baffles and bases. The sides/back are a textured black.I opted for the ports in the front as I think it adds a lot to the look of the speaker. These sound amazing like everyone says that has heard the speaker. In my particular situation I just can't seem to get them to do what I want.I am very limited on my placement and the room is an odd shape so I am inclined to sell these and move on.It was a fun project and I learned some things in the process which is always a positive. These have the XBL-2 rear drivers and "No-Res" upgrades.I am looking for $1200 obo.I am not looking to ship these as they are HEAVY.I am located in Charleston, S, Carolina if interested...Please contact me at tylerch1@yahoo.com

Nice work.

What do you want them to do that they are not?

Are you having bass issues, or imaging?

In my current room I can't give them the distance they need all around them to image to their full potential. When they can be pulled about 3ft away framany wall they just float the soundstage like nothing I've heard before...

I have read somewhere on this site, I don't know where now,  "Your room is everything!!! Use it well." I think a bigger room, regardless of what speaker would be the change to make. But then again, I am very biased.

Rocket_got to have a great room. 26 x 18 will do fine_Ronny

Seconded about the soundstaging.  Absolutely terrific if you can give them some room to breathe.  Also love the O-3's for sports since they produce a wide and deep soundstage that doesn't change that much off axis.
