I have two year old RM30Ms with internal crossover.Looking to an unknown time in the future, I'm considering the possibility of OXO's, and employing the DEQX as an active crossover and equalizer. Currenly I use the Behringer DEQ as an equaliser betwen my CD Transport and DAC. Hence I would appreciate some advice.Firstly, reading the threads on the beginnings of SDE, the DEQX was rejected in favour of the Behringer DCX. Why? Was it simply supply difficulties (as hinted on the SDE thread) or other reasons (cost could be one).
Secondly, now that the SDE's have been out there for a while, I would be interested in people's views on the improvements it offers at the ear, particularly the active crossover part (I'm fully aware of how equalizing can improve things). Finally, if I wanted to go down the active crossover route, how could this be done with my RM30M's and their internal crossover. Would I be wise to invest in an OXO in the meantime, or would that serve no purpose (I should add that I've never dabbled with speaker innerds or done any soldering)?
