Hello all,

I have connected the pre-outs of my AVR300 to the HT-in on my PrimaLuna Dialogue One integrated tube amp. The coaxial digital connection of the DV78 is plugged into the DVD input of the AVR300, while the optical output feeds an external DAC connected to the CD- in of the PrimaLuna integrated. CDs played in the DVD player sound great, DA converted by the AVR300 with the pre-outs sending the signal to the HT in of the PrimaLuna. DVDs with Dolby Digital cause a loud knocking static-like noise in the left and right speakers. The other 3.1 channels powered by the AVR300 are fine. I just don't understand this as it is OK if the DVD player is outputting PCM to the receiver, but the DD signal somehow appears to be causing a problem. Later this week (when I have time) I will beginning plugging and unplugging cables and components, but wonder if anyone has any idea what the heck is going on....

BTW: Dolby Digital outputs from my satellite box are fine when the optical outs are connected to the SAT inputs of the receiver, then outputted to the HT-in of the integrated tube amp.

PS: Love that PrimaLuna amp!!

Thanks,
Ajay
