FS/Trade Gr Research AV-3's in Phoenix, AZ

Now that I have finished up my OB-7's I need to see about finding a home for my AV-3's.  I was originally going to keep them, but I just don't have room in the house for 2 large sets of speakers.

Local pickup only in/around Phoenix, AZ.  I have no desire to ship these, nor do I think it is cost effective.

I constructed these an extra 6" tall and filled the base of each with 25lbs of sand.  As such, the are a bit tall and very bottom heavy.  It would be a simple matter to put them on the crosscut sled on my table saw and chop off the bottom 6", doing away with the height and weight, if a buyer would like that.

Other than the base, I also built the baffle extra thick.

They are covered with ribbon strip mahogany veneer, and finished with tung oil.  There are some pics in my gallery.

There are a couple of imperfections on the veneer, but they look pretty good overall.

I'm not really looking to make money on these, I would be pleased to get back out what I have in them.  They cost me about:

Kit:                             $339
Sonicap Upgrade:          $  72
2 Sheets No-Rez:          $  76
Lumber/Veneer:             $120
Total:                          $607

As such, I'm asking $600.  I would also consider trades in part or full for a decent quality dac with USB input (I would love to trade these for a Hagtech Chime DAC), a quality turntable, or a 2 channel pre-amplifier with remote control.

I'm happy to make arrangements for interested folks to see and hear these.  I'm not in a huge rush to let these go or anything, but I do need to find a place for them eventually.

Please PM with any questions, or to make arrangements to see them.

Rick.

Still for sale.

I know I have a limited market for these doing a local only sale.  I'm willing to consider all sorts of trades for interesting audio gear to try out.  I could also be convinced to load up my spray rig and spray these in a color of your choice, you buy the paint, in order to facilitate finding a home for these.

Any questions, ask away.

These are still available.  They feel like a forgotten stepchild now that their big brothers have taken over (even though their big brothers don't have quite the voice these do). They really want to play some tunes.

I might be convinced to take $500 for them if my arm were properly twisted.
