Just thought I'd throw this question out before asking Synergistic Research directly. I have 3 Line Doubler X2 component cables and 1 Directors Reference X2 component cable in my home theater system. These are all active cables that are powered using wallwart PS's. My question is should the active plugin end of the cable be attached to the source or to the receiving component? Or does it really make any difference? I have them going both ways, strictly depending on convenience. But for the sake of getting the most performance from these not so cheap cables, I'm trying to get the facts. Like I said, I'll probably email Synergistic directly unless I can get a solid answer here. Thanks for your time.  :thumb:

Cheers,
Robin

All my active SR cables have the MPC coupling plug at the source or "from" end (speaker cables at amp, interconnect at source end)

You sound pretty sure of yourself Ted so I won't bother to email SR,,, thanks! :thumb: All I have are component cables from SR that replaced Monster Cable's MV3 cables,,,,, big improvement. Now I have some switching to do.

Emailing Ted Denny or Elliott wouldn't hurt.  They're very good about responding.   Also, my stuff is the more recent Tesla series, not X2.

I would imagine all SR active cables live by the same connection policy regardless of age or use (IC, SC, video). That was my connection guess anyways and I only have 1 cable that I need to switch after I get an extension cord for the wallwart PS. I just wanted to make sure I was guessing right. :green:

Ted is exactly right. It has something to do with point of contact or first power or something like that. speaker cable is powered at amp end, IC's are powered where the signal is coming from, and power cords at the outlet end.
