Hey!

Well, I'm not sure how many people here know about this. But this might be interested to some here.... maybe someone like Martin/mjosef

I couldn't sleep two nights before and around 3AM I was still surfing the channels on TV. Than I was on NG channel and to my surprise NG is showing a collection of World Music late at night on their channel. Cool! Well, I watch it for about half an hour than I was ready for bed.

Anyway, I checked out their site and its also filled with many artists and infos. So, I will pass it on here. Even if you are not in to World Music it is still worth checking, watching and see other music around the world. :D

Also, if you are a night owl than you might want to check out the World Music show late at night starting at 3AM  or set your recorder and watch it later. :D

   Explore and enjoy guys. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

I own a lot of the "National Geographic" series of CDs with each of them concentrating on a particular country like ireland, spain, brazil etc. Every single one of them is beautiful.  :thumb: Listen to them when you get a chance.  :D

Buddy, was that coffee keeping you up late...
I have to check it out, I rarely watch TV that late...I did see a program on Malian music a couple weeks ago, but don't remember what channel it was...think it was on the Voom Equator channel, there was no commercials so I am sure it was not NG.
Thanks for the tip.

Hey!

That could be the cause but I don't remember how many cups I had that day.

Anyway, I rarely stay past 2AM.. but I do want to watch it. I might have to set my DVD recorder so I could watch it later. :D

Oh! BTW... you are welcome to stop by to have to hang out and have a nice cup(s) of coffee if you like... and of course listening to music. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Gotta say I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the sound from a show I watched 4am this morning. It wasn't even in stereo and I have my receiver set on Dolby Digital. Guess I'm spoiled with my 6.1 system but monaural music just don't cut it with me and there's nothing I can do with it using my processor. Hopefully not all the shows are like this, I will be giving it a few more listens as I love music that's worldly different. :D

Cheers,
Robin

Hey!

Hmmm... I didn't investigated this since it was late and I was watching it at very low level on my 20" tube telly.  :?

Now I wonder if it is in stereo. I have Time Warner Cable NYC. Well, let's see. :D

Take care,

It's not all the shows Buddy, in fact it varies from song to song according to the recording. I'm glad I gave these shows more of a listen tonite instead of just being turneed off from a few poorly recorded videos. I listened to a good 3 hours tonight and the audio quality varies greatly but there are some truely great gems to be had. :D

Cheers,
Robin

Hey Buddy, I've spent the last few nights listening to NG's World Music and I need to thank you for mentioning this channel. :thumb: The diversity of the music provided is exceptional, it's opened the door to more than just a few artists that I never would have been exposed to otherwise. And the best part,,, no rap! Punk out,,,

Hey!

Glade that you enjoy it Robin.

Sadly, I usually don't stay up late enough to see the show.  :icon_lol: And still never got around to record it.

Definitely some interesting stuffs on there, not just sound but interesting stuffs to watch too. :D

Take care,
