Saisunil,
I always wanted to modify my Consonance Droplet CDP to run on DC/battery but failed to find the person qualify, willing and reasonably priced to do it.
It sure looks great.........how does it sounds when in battery mode?

With the battery option actually it is a totally different player.
You cannot go back and forth between the players.
The TRL modded Sony 900 is a great player to start with - it has been favorably compared with DAC/Transport combo worth ~$20,000. With the battery mod - it still needs to be plugged in AC for display and control but it uses battery power for analog and digital sections.
It takes the player up another level -
more 3D
in one word. It is just better overall.
The mod battery mod itself is $1500 + the cost of player and Paul is more than honorable. He takes care of all his work - whether you bought it new or used.
Cheers

I ended up buying this player myself
so now I have two of them.
I am justifying it as a backup player
