FS: Odyssey Stratos Monoblock Custom
« on: 29 Jun 2008, 03:49 am »
I'm selling my custom monoblocks because I'm moving on to a multichannel amp.

This is a pair of black Odyssey Stratos mono's in Khatargo casing -- they are made that way because the original ones are way to big to fit on any conventional rack or in the case of the original owner, his closet. I want to make clear: On the inside, they are 180w with 120,000uF capacitance each; they are the red board. They are practically spotless on the outside.

I've posted an ad on audiogon, for more details: http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?ampstran&1219894457&item

Thanks for looking! aa

Edit: Asking price is $950 + shipping. Paypal extra 3%. Or if you're willing to go through eBay, you could get this for $800. Read down for more info.

I know these amps and they are what rakuen.now says they are.  :thumb:

Do they take balanced inputs?  I might want to try them.

The Khatargo are RCA only, the Stratos monoblocks have a balanced input but are not truly balanced.  I have the Odyssey Stratos monoblock extreme SE's.

bump!  aa

As golfugh said, Stratos are not truly balanced, and the Khatargo cases do not have balanced inputs. I'll let this go for $950, quite a loss at my end but I do need to get rid of them. They are nearly perfect condition Odyssey Stratos Monoblocks, the only difference is that they are in Khatargo casing...

OK! I just came across a little something that might not be widely known. I'm normally not willing to deal with eBay with audio gear, but if I have a confirmed buyer, I'd be willing to extend this deal. Read closely! You could possibly get this for about $800 if you're willing to wait 2 months for a $250 refund from Microsoft. :thumb: aa

In order to get the word out for its new search engine search.live.com, Microsoft is giving 25% cashback promotional deals on all ebay items with Buy-It-Now, if you get to eBay through its website. Steps are simple:
1. Go to search.live.com
2. Type in "cheap ps3".
3. Click on the Microsoft sponsored link for 25% off.
4. Buy the Odyssey amp within an hour.
5. Sign up for a Microsoft Live/email account (free). They will add 25% up to $250 of your purchase price, and let you cash out in 60 days (to prevent you returning, according to the terms).

So... If I list the Odyssey monoblock amp for $950 + $70 shipping + $30 paypal (I will absorb eBay fees) = $1050 Buy-It-Now. You go through the process above and get $250 off, to $800.

I encourage other posters to take advantage of this as well, but you can only do it 3 times per eBay account/computer.

Hi,
I just looked into the Microsoft special deal and did not see any link to a 25% off a purchase.  Has this promotion ended?
Thanks,
Chris

According to this eBay thread the promotion ended (at least for eBay, on the 29th).  I cannot sign into the live search cash back program right now, to see if anything else is on a percentage off.  What I saw a few days ago looked to be 1-3% off from stores like Buy.com.

It put a damper on my day due to the increase in cost for your amp...
