Well,
I got him a Eico HF 81 that is being worked on right now from Vinny.
A pair of Gronenburg speaker cables and my Osiris speaker stands.
he is going to use my modded sony 7700 with a Super Pro Dac,I am working on the battery power supply for the dac. Should be a little better, but his room sucks for audio, he listen mostly on my system.
Funny coming home from work and music is playing out of my system, he knows how, and in what order to turn everything on :icon_lol:

I should get mad... but actually it makes me proud....he has a very diverse taste in music, lately he loves old school jazz. He likes WBGO 88.3 jazz, he really does.

Yeah, that Sophia caught my eye, that with the 1C's would be a very nice starter system.

Gary,
has the Quicksilver.
he was borrowing it when I went away, should be back on Tues? :dunno:
I will let you know.. it is still breaking in only about 30 hours on it so far.

regarding Andrew and jazz... it is true he likes it.... for now anyway

wait till he gets to school and his friends corrupt his tastes as he gets older.
My job is to give him a foundation, some roots to come back to when he strays,
so here he hears lots of music, because I like lots of different music

and Mike no sub (s) although subs might be nice aa
still tweaking though

Well done.  I enjoyed the years listening to music with my daughter while she was growing up.  We both learned to be very tolerant in our musical taste.  BTW how do you like the little HF-81?  I have a pair of HF-12's that don't get very much play, but when I do hook them up, I like what I hear.

His speakers are pretty efficient so the Eico drives the piss out of them. He used to have(still has) a Marantz reciver 2235, which was good, nice tone but not very open. The Eico is very open and airy and punchy(el84) tubes. Very clean sounding and transparent. And its his first tube amp, other than playing with some of mine.
I like it very much
